Terms & Conditions

By booking or purchasing any lessons, courses or gift vouchers with London Sound Academy you agree to our terms and conditions as outlined here

Cancellations, Refunds & Rescheduling

Once you buy a lesson or a course you'll receive an order confirmation by email. You then have a seven day cooling off period to change your mind and obtain a refund as long as you contact us within seven days of purchase and at least 48 hours before the commencement of your lesson(s). To obtain a refund you need to email us within the time window described, cancelling a booking online via the booking system does not constitute a refund request. Refund requests must be emailed to us. Once your course begins we cannot offer a refund or partial refund. If you cancel a booking through the booking system it does not automatically refund you and credit will be held on your account. Refunds incur a 15% admin charge of the total package cost to cover our costs and our card carriers fees. All courses are valid for 364 days before they expire. If you fail to attend your lessons for any reason you will lose the lessons you’ve paid for. If you wish to reschedule a standard two-hour lesson for any reason you need to give us 48 hours notice or you will be charged in full for that lesson. If you need to reschedule a four, six or eight-hour booking you must give us one weeks notice. This allows us to fill the time slots and make use of our expensive studio. You will need either reschedule using the booking system or contact to give us notice by e-mail (please e-mail the academy directly and not your tutors' personal e-mail address or social media accounts.) If you are late for your lesson you will lose that time which you have paid for. If you are trying to cancel or reschedule a booking make sure you realise that each two-hour lesson is a booking on its own and you will need to cancel or reschedule all of them as required individually. On occasion, our tutors may we unwell and we reserve the right to cancel any lesson at anytime and rebook it at a later date or swap for a different tutor. These terms also apply to online and in-person lessons all the same.

Terms and Conditions for booking group courses are as follow: Once you purchase a place on this course you will have a seven-day cooling-off period in which to change your mind and obtain a full refund minus a 15% administration fee. However, if the term starts within four weeks of booking a place on the course refunds will not be possible. In the event that you can’t make a class please just email the studio rather than call. The email address is: hello@londonsoundacademy.com If you miss a class you will not be able to retake that class and instead, we encourage you to book one-to-one lessons to catch up or revise the course notes.

When booking online lessons please be aware that you need a strong stable internet connection and your computers and software should be working correctly. If your systems fail, we cannot rebook your lessons. Please make sure your equipment and connection is working perfectly for online lessons. Online lessons are scheduled in UK time (GMT).

Please also be aware that all our student materials, notes, drawings, presentations, videos and files are subject to copyright. You are permitted to access videos and notes for the duration of your online course but you are not permitted to copy or download them. Any breach of this will result in prosecution.

Please note that from time to time we may relocate our studios within London at our discretion, normally to improve the facilities. If we do move our studios you will be notified that the address of your lesson has changed so please take note of the new address and attend the correct location. No refunds are issued for any inconvenience caused by a change of location or a location becoming no longer available. When you buy a course with us you are buying a number of hours to be used in our London studios, where ever those studios may be within London at the time of redeeming your lessons.

If you have bought a group course with set lesson times, dates and terms you will not be able to reschedule the lesson times. You should make sure you attend every lesson within the term of the course to avoid missing out. When you buy a group course you have a seven-day-cooling-off-period in which to change your mind and get a refund minus a 15% admin fee, after which all sales are final. However if the course starts within four weeks of your requesting a refund it will not be possible to obtain a refund.

Occasionally, LSA has been the victim of fraudulent claims and fraudulent card payments. In the case of fraud, we will chase any debt in the courts. This process will incur a charge of the disputed amount with an additional fine of £10,000 and any court and or legal fees.

If you are hiring a DJ studio for DJ practice or a music production room you must follow the rules on your booking confirmation. Please do not change the volume of the speakers and do not play in the red. Failure to do so will result in a fine to repair and replacement of the speakers. Make sure you also vacate the room on time and leave the room in the same state you found it.

Scheduling Your Lessons

Lessons are scheduled on a first come first served basis so if you need a specific time slot please make sure you book in advance. If you choose to reschedule your lessons you may have to wait for a replacement slot to become available. Your tutor or lesson location may change, we reserve the right to re-assign tutors or studio locations. We reserve the right to make changes to any bookings, even on the day itself. If your tutor is sick we either swap the tutor or cancel the class.

Tutor Assignment & Lesson Length

We do not guarantee you will get the same tutor for every single one of your lessons. In the case of your tutor being unavailable we will either reschedule your lesson or schedule you with another tutor at our discretion. Lesson times are two-hours each unless booked otherwise. Some of this lesson time will be used by the tutor for admin purposes to keep your notes up to date. You should expect to wrap up the lesson ten minutes before the end of the session in order for the tutor to complete your notes and naturally end the conversation rather than an abrupt end. If your lesson starts any later than 15 minutes after the scheduled time you should email the office so we may arrange additional time on another day.

Once you have purchased an LSA Gift Certificate you have a seven day cooling off period in which you can change your mind and receive a full refund minus a 15% admin fee. Vouchers are valid for 364 days.

You will also be given instructions to join our LSA alumni community group. We organise many opportunities for our alumni including DJ gigs at prestigious venues like Ministry of Sound. You must have completed a minimum of three courses with LSA to access graduate benefits. DJ gigs are not paid and are organised to give students an experience playing in a real club and a way to network in the industry. DJs will be expected to help promote the events and be professional at all times. We reserve the right to refuse gigs to students who do not conduct themselves professionally. You'll also find scores of other opportunities in the group so we hope you enjoy!
